Romfilatelia celebrates Romanian Postmark Day on Wednesday by launching a show dedicated to the Brătianu family, put into circulation together with the Romanian Post.
In the text dedicated to the new philatelic issue, the academician Ioan-Aurel Pop showed the decisive contribution of the Bratians to the building of the modern Romanian state, which he called the "Uncrowned Dynasty of Romania".
"The Brătianu family participated in the creation of the country program of the Romanians during the Revolution of 1848 and then contributed to each of the three stages of modern state construction: 1859, 1877 and 1918," explained the academic. Ioan-Aurel Pop.
Personalities and historical moments The philatelic issue consists of three postage stamps, a lacy slip, a "first day" envelope and a limited edition philatelic map.
The stamp with the nominal value of 6 lei shows Ion C. Brătianu (1821–1891), founder of the National Liberal Party and one of the craftsmen of the modern Romanian state.
