PS Andrei: The Mother of God is the fruit of the prayer of Saints Joachim and Anatranslated

"The Mother of God is the fruit of the prayer of the two pious, faithful, humble, but at the same time very merciful parents," said Tuesday Bishop Andrei of Covasna and Harghita at the dedication of the Monastery of Our Lady in the Moglănești - Toplița neighborhood.

His Eminence emphasized that the parents of the Mother of God had a great gift, namely that they were God-fearing.

"A very important thing to be God-fearing in a secularized world. You rarely find such God-fearing people."

The bit about Joachim and Anna being “temători de Dumnezeu” really stuck with me. In a world where shame itself seems to have died, as the bishop said, that quiet fear of the Lord is exactly what’s missing when we try to raise our own kids. Makes you wonder if we pray with enough patience for the things we ask God for.
