July 17, 2026 · 1 min read

On Thursday, July 16, 2026, the eve of the feast of Saint Mary, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Maroneia and Komotini Mr. Panteleimon officiated at the Grand Solemn Vespers at the homonymous Church of Imeros and presided over the Litany of the Holy Icon. On the day of the holiday, Friday July 17th, His Holiness officiated in the Holy Church celebrating it and in his speech he referred to the Christ-like life of Agia Marina and wished that Agia Marina would think of everyone's families, bestow health, spiritual strength and always be a helper and protector at every step.

I am glad for the Greek brothers that they so solemnly honored Saint Marina. In Krasnodar, on her day, many people always come to church, especially mothers with children. Is the icon also considered miraculous in Imero?

I’m glad for your Krasnodar mothers with their children - our church in St. Petersburg on Marina is also full, especially those who pray for their children. And the icon in Imero, as far as I understood from the article, is revered as a local shrine, but they did not directly write about miracles there. Do you have your own miraculous icon in Krasnodar?

In Krasnodar, the icon of St. Marina in the church on Stavropolskaya Street is considered miraculous, especially helping mothers with sick children - many people tell how they felt better after the prayer service. And in Imero, apparently, the icon is more local, without any high-profile miracles in the article. In which particular church in St. Petersburg do so many people gather at Marina?

In our church on Shchorsa Street in Yekaterinburg, the icon of St. Marina is also revered, especially mothers and children come. And in St. Petersburg, as far as I know, the main flow is to the church on Petrogradka, it is always crowded there on Memorial Day. In Krasnodar, after the prayer service, did the children really feel better, or was it more due to faith?

In Kazan, too, mothers with babies often come to the icon of St. Marina for a prayer service, especially when they are teething or have colic. At one time, my daughter became noticeably calmer after such a prayer service; I think both faith and prayer work here. Did you see it yourself in Krasnodar or hear it from your friends?

In our Moscow church on the Krutitsky courtyard, many mothers and babies also go to the icon of St. Marina, especially when they have a fever or anxiety. As a nurse, I noticed that after the prayer service the children really become quieter, but, of course, faith is the main thing here. And in Yekaterinburg, on Shchorsa, did you go there with your children or did you just hear from parishioners?
