Meeting of the Metropolitan of Floris with the Regional Governor of Western Macedoniatranslated

In a particularly constructive atmosphere, a meeting was held today, Thursday, July 2, 2026, between the Regional Governor of Western Macedonia George Amanatidis and the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Florinis, Prespa and Eordaia, Mr. Irenaios, during which issues related to the development and strengthening of the work of the Holy Metropolis were discussed. Present at the meeting were the Deputy Regional Governor and responsible for Technical Projects Lazaros Gerechtes, and the Deputy Regional Governor P.E. Florinas Athanasios Taskas.

At the center of the discussion were the priority projects set by the Diocese of Floris, with an emphasis on interventions related to the maintenance and upgrading of church infrastructure, but also to the protection of the religious and cultural heritage of the region.

Mr. Amanatidis expressed the will of the Region to support initiatives that contribute to local development and the preservation of the historical and cultural identity of Western Macedonia.

The meeting concluded with the joint commitment to continue cooperation and promote the necessary actions for the implementation of the projects that have been set as a priority.
