A pilgrimage trip to Elassona and Volos was made by I.N. Agioi Konstantinou and Eleni Amyntaioutranslated

With the permission and paternal blessing of the Reverend Metropolitan of Floris, Mr. Irenaios, the Holy Church of Saints Constantine and Helen Amyntaios organized, on Thursday, July 16, a daily pilgrimage trip to Elassona and Volos led by Protopresbyter Georgios Moglenidis. The first stop of the excursion was the Holy Monastery of Panagia Olympiotissa in Elassona, built at the end of the 13th century, it is one of the most important Byzantine monuments in Thessaly, with the Most Holy Theotokos as its center of reference. There the pilgrims worshiped the miraculous icon of Panagia Olympiotissa and were informed about the history of the Monastery by the Priestess, Gerontissa Akakia.

The last stop of the pilgrimage was the Holy Monastery of Panagia Ano Xenia Almyrou with origins dating back to the end of the 10th and the beginning of the 11th century, ranking it as one of the oldest monasteries in Thessalian land. The vicar and the pilgrims were welcomed by the hieromonk Father Maximos, who referred to the history and the centuries-old presence of the Monastery. Then followed a spiritual speech in the hall of the Holy Monastery.
