Meeting of the Patriarch of Serbia with the United Nations Coordinator in the countrytranslated

The Patriarch of Serbia Mr. Porfirios met yesterday, Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade, with Ms. Matilda Mord, Permanent Coordinator of the United Nations in the Republic of Serbia. The Primate of the Orthodox Church in Serbia presented to the chosen guest the difficult situation, the great challenges and pressures faced by the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.
Thanking Ms Mord for her visit, His Beatitude emphasized that the Serbian Orthodox Church, remaining faithful to its evangelical call, strives to bear witness to the values of peace, understanding and brotherly love between people and nations in a modern world full of challenges and upheavals. The Patriarch of Serbia also emphasized that the Church of Saint Sava fulfills this mission mainly through caring for people, especially the poor, the sick, refugees and all those in need.
