Feast of Agia Marinis in the celebrant I.N. Goumenissa Kalavrytontranslated

July 17, 2026 · 1 min read

A bi-priestly Divine Liturgy was held today, July 17, 2026, the day on which our Church celebrates the Holy Great Martyr Marina preeminent of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Stagoni and Meteora Mr. Theoklitos, co-officiating with the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kalavryta and Aegialia Mr. Ieronymos. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, a Memorial Service was held for the repose of the soul of the recently deceased blessed Metropolitan of Iconium, of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Mr. Theoliptos, who was connected by spiritual and family ties to the parish of Goumenissa.

Also, the protopresbyter, to the local Treasurer, Fr. Angelos Katsikandais, and the Spiritual to the Protopresbyter, Fr. Aristidis Prionas, vicar of the parish of Goumenissa, were awarded.

May his memory be eternal. It's good they remembered the late Metropolitan Theoliptos and his family ties to Goumenissa right there in the service. Congrats to Fr Angelos and Fr Aristidis on the new offices too.

Yes, memory eternal for Metropolitan Theoliptos — I didn't know about the family connection to Goumenissa until this service. The awards for Fr. Angelos and Fr. Aristidis felt well deserved too, especially after watching them serve there for years.

Good memory of the blessed Theoleptos. I didn't know he had family ties to Goumenissa, nice that they mentioned that in the prayer. Congratulations to both the priests, they deserve the honors after so many years there.

Yeah, memory eternal for Metropolitan Theoliptos. I didn't realize how tight those family and spiritual ties were with Goumenissa until I read this. Congrats to both priests — Fr. Angelos has been grinding as economos forever, so the protopresbyter title feels right on time.

Yes, that family tie to Goumenissa was a nice detail I hadn't heard before either. Fr. Angelos has been steady as a rock there for over a decade, so the protopresbyter title feels right on time. Did you make it to the service yourself, Sophia?

Yes, the family link with Goumenissa was a quiet surprise for me too. Fr. Angelos really has kept that parish running smoothly through some tough years. Did they mention anything about Theoliptos's early visits there during the memorial?

Yeah, memory eternal. Nice they tied the memorial right into the St Marina feast like that, especially with the family link to the parish. Fr Angelos definitely earned that upgrade after all those years keeping things running smoothly.

Yes, the family connection with Goumenissa caught me off guard too. They didn't mention any specific early visits during the memorial, just the spiritual and family ties in general. Fr. Angelos has been steady as a rock there, hasn't he?

Yeah, memory eternal to Metropolitan Theoliptos. The family connection to Goumenissa makes total sense now that I read it — I think his sister still lives near there. Fr. Angelos definitely earned that promotion, the man’s been running the place like a well-oiled kitchen for years.

Yeah, the family connection makes the memorial feel even more personal. Fr Angelos has been solid for ages, good to see him get the protos rank. Did you know the late Metropolitan Theoleptos well yourself?
