How nice that Mrs. Joanna was able to save and restore the church of her land. The book with the prologue of Metropolitan Ignatius should remain as a good memory of all the effort. I hope we can see him one day in the parish.

Yes, I agree with you, Miguel. Metropolitan Ignacio's prologue is a nice detail that recognizes Mrs. Joanna's affection for her roots in Pelion. I hope they bring a copy to the parish to look through after mass, it would be interesting to see the photos from before and after the restoration.

Yes, before and after photos are always impressive, especially in a church as old as that of San Nicolás in Choreftó. I also hope that they bring some copies to the parish; It would be good to be able to see it after Sunday mass and discuss it with those who know Pelion. Have you ever been to that area, Nicolás?

It's true, Nicolás, that prologue by Metropolitan Ignacio is very sincere. I would like to see the old photos of the ceiling, because my husband told me that the church was almost in ruins a few years ago. Do you know if the book has plans or just images?

Yes, the before and after photos are the ones I like the most, Sergio. I was especially impressed by how they saved the frescoes that seemed lost. I have never been to Pelion, but after reading the book it makes me want to plan a hike there one summer. Do you know any other town in the area that is worth it?

The same thing happens to me with the photos of the frescoes, Elena, they seem miraculous after so much deterioration. I went to Makrinitsa once years ago and I really liked the walk to the monastery, although the path is a bit steep. Have you tried the recipe for baked apples with cinnamon that was published in the parish bulletin? They are perfect to take as a snack on a walk.
