2026 International Peace Convocation to take place in Korea

An International Ecumenical Peace Convocation will convene 9-13 September in Seoul, Republic of Korea, under the theme “ World Peace and the Korean Peninsula: The Church as a Community of Healing, Reconciliation, and Peacebuilding.”

The convocation is being co-organized by the World Council of Churches (WCC), Christian Conference of Asia, and National Council of Churches in Korea.

It’s good that they chose Korea - the topic of division is very lively there. I wonder if any of the North Korean Christians will be invited to the convocation or will it be just southern voices? Prayer for reconciliation is always needed, especially when wars are multiplying around us.

It’s good that we chose Seoul - the division there is really felt every day. I wonder if the organizers will be able to invite at least some of the North Korean Christians, or will only the southern voices remain? A prayer for reconciliation is never superfluous.
