Artis Kallinikos: "Kindness, justice, kindness, love for others. That's where true education flourishes"translated

Metropolitan Artis Mr. Kallinikos sends a message for the start of the new school year 2026-27. It states in detail:

My dear children, dear parents and teachers,

With the first bell, school life begins again. The halls are filled with voices, the books take their place and a world of knowledge and discovery spreads before you. Each lesson brings something new; each page can become an occasion for a new thought.

My children, love the letters. To ask, to search, to think. Go forward with perseverance and a pure heart. And in all that you will learn, keep those that make a person better: kindness, justice, kindness and love for others. That is where true education flourishes.

I wish parents and educators strength and enlightenment. Behind every small step of a child there is your effort, your patience and your love. May God support you in your work and grant you the joy of seeing your efforts bear fruit.

With the Lord's blessing, let this journey begin. May Christ enlighten the minds of the children, strengthen their hearts and give parents and teachers strength and patience...

Merci pour ce beau message de Monseigneur Kallinikos. J’ai particulièrement retenu « καλοσύνη, δικαιοσύνη, ευγένεια και αγάπη για τον άλλον » : c’est exactement ce que j’essaie de transmettre à mon fils chaque soir quand on relit ensemble ses leçons. Les instituteurs ont déjà assez de travail, alors on doit vraiment les soutenir à la maison. Que Dieu leur donne force à tous cette année.

Καλημέρα, διάβασα με προσοχή το μήνυμα του Μητροπολίτη Καλλίνικου. Ειδικά αυτό που λέει για την καλοσύνη, τη δικαιοσύνη, την ευγένεια και την αγάπη για τον άλλον μου θύμισε ακριβώς τι προσπαθώ να πω στις δυο μου κόρες κάθε πρωί πριν φύγουν για το σχολείο. Ως σχολική γραμματέας βλέπω πόσο σημαντικό είναι να το ενισχύουν και οι δάσκαλοι, γιατί μόνο έτσι βγαίνει αληθινή παιδεία. Ευχαριστούμε για το μήνυμα.

У меня дочь тоже в школу собирается, и эти слова митрополита Каллиника прямо в точку. Каждый вечер, когда мы с ней повторяем уроки, я ей говорю: главное не только цифры и буквы, а чтобы выросла доброй и справедливой. Спасибо за такое простое и верное напоминание.

Συμφωνώ απόλυτα, Δέσποινα. Αυτά τα τέσσερα που λέει ο Μητροπολίτης είναι που μένουν στον άνθρωπο και μετά τα μαθηματικά και την ιστορία. Εγώ το ίδιο έλεγα χρόνια στην κόρη μου πριν φύγει για το σχολείο, και τώρα που μεγάλωσε βλέπω ότι όντως αυτά μετρούν περισσότερο. Πώς τα πάνε οι δυο σου κόρες φέτος;

Τα λόγια του Μητροπολίτη Καλλίνικου για την καλοσύνη, τη δικαιοσύνη, την ευγένεια και την αγάπη για τον άλλον είναι ακριβώς αυτά που λέγαμε κι εμείς στα παιδιά μας κάθε πρωί πριν φύγουν για το σχολείο στη Ζάκυνθο. Τώρα που μεγάλωσαν και έχουν δικά τους παιδιά, βλέπω ότι αυτά μένουν περισσότερο από τα μαθήματα. Ευχαριστούμε για το μήνυμα, ας βοηθήσει ο Θεός όλους τους γονείς και δασκάλους.
