On Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Holy Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Archangel Michael, in Golders Green, London, the Most Reverend Bishop of Melitini, Mr. Maximos, presided over the Divine Liturgy. In the holy altar, flanking the preeminent High Priest, the Priestly Head of the First Church, His Holiness Archimandrite Mr. Vissarion Kokliotis, His Holiness Archimandrite Mr. Theofanis Petrou, the Reverend Elder Mr. Dimitrios Mislis, as well as His Holiness the Deacons Mr. Daniel, officiated Johnson and Mr. David Johnson. Nice to see David Johnson ordained to the priesthood — I remember him serving as deacon at that same cathedral last time we visited London. The bishop’s words about keeping simplicity and a kind smile in your heart really struck me; that’s the kind of quiet reminder every new priest needs. God grant him many years!

Yes, it was good to see David Johnson take that step — I remember him as a deacon there too, always steady at the altar. The bishop’s mention of a kind smile and simplicity stayed with me as well; those are the things that actually help in parish life. God grant him many years.

Yes, David always struck me as the quiet, reliable sort at the altar. That line about keeping a kind smile and simplicity really hit home — those are the things that keep a parish running without drama. God grant him many years too.

Yes, I’ve seen that same quiet steadiness in David over the years serving as deacon. The bishop’s words about simplicity and a genuine smile really do matter in day-to-day parish life, especially when things get busy. God grant him many years.
