The festival of Agios Medicos in Kamaterotranslated

The feast of Agios Medikos the physician was solemnly celebrated in the Holy Church of Agios Tryphonos Kamateros on Friday, June 26, 2026. The Vespers was officiated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Heliopolis Mr. Theodoros. Archimandrites Ioannis Raptis, Chrysostomos Chrysopoulos and Timotheus Anagnostakis, the Protopresbyters and Elders George Charlas, Evangelos Lazos, Stamatios Kalimeris, Anastasios Xanthidis, the deacon Kallinikos Zografos and the President of the Ecclesiastical Council of the celebrating church Prot. George participated. Theodoropoulos.

The Divine Liturgy was presided over by the Most Reverend Archbishop. Agathangelos Koklas, with co-celebrants Fathers George Haliotis and George Theodoropoulos. The Holy Prayer was performed by Fr. Georgios Schizas.

In the afternoon of the day, Fr. Evangelos Papanikolaou gave a speech on the topic "Saints Anargyri the doctors".

M-am uitat cu interes la prelegerea părintelui Evangelos despre "Sfinții Anargiri". La noi în Sibiu, când ne rugăm pentru medici, amintim mereu și pe sfinții care au servit în sănătate, ca și sfântul Medikos.

Da, și la noi în parohie, la Sf. Parascheva din Iași, am ținut mult la Sf. Pantelimon, mai ales când copiii veneau cu răni sau febră. Părintele Schizas a vorbit concret despre cum doctorii fără de arginți nu se lăudau cu știința lor, ci trimiteau totul la Hristos – mi-a rămas în minte exemplul cu un bolnav care se vindeca după ce medicul îi spunea „nu eu, ci El”. Tu ce anume din predicile lui te-a marcat cel mai mult?

Интересно, Елена, при нас в Русе на св. Пантелеймон също се събират такива сълзи, но ги смесват с маслото за помазване, не ги държат отделно. Аз лично не съм била в Пловдив на този празник, а ти ходила ли си в Каматеро или другаде в Гърция на подобни панигири?
