Porfirios of Serbia visited a summer camp in Avalatranslated

His Beatitude Patriarch of Serbia Mr. Porfirios visited the summer camp of the Archdiocese of Belgrade-Karlovici on July 15, 2026, which is being held for the first time at the Souplia Stena resort in Avala. Patriarch Porphyrios was welcomed with the song "Children of Heaven" by the fourth and last group of participants in the Summer Spiritual School, which consists of elementary school students from the area of the Archdiocese of Belgrade and Karlovci. Over two hundred children will participate in the camp in four groups, from June 23 to July 20, and through a carefully planned program they will spend part of their summer vacation in an atmosphere of faith, brotherhood and joy. The fourth and last group of students are supervised by catechists Jovana Ciric and Milos Jokic, as well as teacher Aleksandra Jankovic.

A joyful meeting with the young children followed, during which the Patriarch presented them with children's prayer books and small icons. The children presented to His Holiness their activities and then asked several interesting questions to the Primate of Serbia...

It is good that a new place was chosen in Avala this year. Patriarch Porphyrios beautifully presented books and icons to the children, especially the fourth group. Hopefully Giovanna Ciric and Milos Jokic will finish the camp well.

Suplia Stena is a good choice, in previous years children often complained that they were tight in the old place. I also liked that the patriarch congratulated the fourth group and gave books and icons, they stayed until the end. Giovanna and Milos are nice people, but I wonder what the kids will say after the camp is over.
