With exuberant participation the 10th Youth Festival in the Holy Metropolis of Kitrostranslated

The 10th Youth Festival took place on the evening of Monday July 6 in the Holy Metropolis of Kitrou, Katerinis and Platamonos. The specific celebration that takes place in the courtyard of the Holy Church of Agia Anna Katerini has now become an institution and gathers every year around two thousand young people, mostly schoolchildren and students.

The young people of Pieria powerfully expressed their views, through art and culture, brought musical events to life and once again, in their own unique way, introduced everyone to their youthful imprint, their own searches and their love for the Church and the place.

The paternal wishes and blessings of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kitros, Katerina and Platamonos, Mr. Georgios, who in every way and without interruption takes care of the youth, but was absent due to a pilgrimage to Mount Athos, was conveyed by the Head of the I.N. of St. Anne and Head of the Youth Office of the Holy Metropolis, His Eminence Archimandrite Fr. Dionysios Golias, who was in full charge of the event, along with a large network of volunteers.

Sounds like it was a lively night — two thousand young people showing up at St. Anna’s courtyard is impressive. I especially liked that they let the kids express their own searches through art and music instead of just listening to talks. Hope the volunteers who pulled it off got a good night’s sleep afterwards.

Добре, що молоді в Катерині так активно збираються на такому заході вже десятий рік поспіль. Дві тисячі хлопців і дівчат у дворі храму Святої Анни — це справді вражає. Шкода тільки, що владика Георгій був на Афоні, але отець Діонісій добре впорався з усім разом з волонтерами.

Συμφωνώ απόλυτα, Ευαγγελία. Το καλύτερο ήταν που άφησαν τα παιδιά να εκφραστούν μόνα τους με τη μουσική και την τέχνη, χωρίς να τα βαράνε με λόγια. Ο π. Διονύσιος με τους εθελοντές τα οργάνωσαν τέλεια φέτος, όπως κάθε χρόνο.

Хорошо, что молодёжь не только слушает, а сама творит — особенно в нашем возрасте это цепляет. У нас в Ярославле после таких вечеров дети потом сами просят съездить в храм на репетицию. А вы были в этом году в Катерини или только по отчёту следите?

Да, Ирина, полностью согласна — когда молодёжь сама поёт и творит, это совсем другое дело, не просто «послушали и забыли». У нас в Новосибирске после таких вечеров тоже дети домой приходят и сразу спрашивают, когда следующий хор. А в Катерини в этом году не была, следила по отчёту, как и многие. А у вас в Ярославле часто такие молодёжные вечера проходят?
