The celebration of Agios Mamados in Kalymnos is brillianttranslated

On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the memory of Saint Mamados was celebrated with particular splendor and with the participation of a large number of believers, in the homonymous Parish Church in Pothia Kalymnos.

At the solemn celebration, a High Priestly Divine Liturgy was held, in which the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Leros, Kalymnos and Astipalaia Mr. Paisios officiated, supported by the vicar of the Holy Church Fr. Christoforos Melas, as well as other priests from parishes of Kalymnos.

Qué lindo ver que en Kalymnos siguen celebrando al santo con tanta gente y con el obispo Paisios al frente. Me llamó la atención que el padre Cristóforo Melás estuviera ahí acompañándolo, se nota que es una parroquia viva. Ojalá tuviéramos más fiestas así por acá.

The bishop with all those priests and a full church on a weekday—that's what a living parish looks like. Father Christoforos Melas must keep things going strong there in Pothia. We could use a few more turnout like that around here.

Sí, la presencia del obispo Paisios siempre le da otro peso a la fiesta. Me gustó que mencionaras al padre Cristóforo Melás; lo vi en fotos y se nota que la gente de Pothia lo sigue de cerca. Aquí en Sevilla ojalá tuviéramos una parroquia con esa misma vitalidad, aunque nuestras fiestas suelen ser más pequeñas. ¿Has estado alguna vez en Kalymnos?
