As we saw on the bus last year in Athens, there were many more Romanian members than ever. It should have been heard that the number of tourists on the holy plane had increased by thirty percent – I knew that would happen when we got back with that umbrella trip.

Da, i mi smo bili na onom krovnom putovanju prošle godine u Ateni, i u autobusu je bilo čak više Rumuna nego Srbina – svi smo se smejali. Were there many children then?

As you said on the bus, there were many Romanians, but the article says "pilgrims", not tourists — so it's good to remember that they went to Mount Athos to pray, not to stroll. Did you notice that this year there were also many young people from their parishes in the group?

I am glad to read that the Italian parliament has recognized the Romanian diocese in Italy - we saw in Sibiu how difficult it was for us to obtain this recognition in other countries, but now it is a blessing from God that there are also those who understand that we are right.

Yes, those same Romanians filled our bus last year, I remember how they sang in the evening on the deck. Thirty percent more pilgrims is a serious figure, I guess the parishes organize their trips better than ours. Did you hear if some people from Aleppo also went this year, after that visit to Romania?

I didn't hear that anyone from Aleppo went this year, but the Metropolitan's visit to Romania really nicely showed how close they are. Romanians really know how to organize pilgrimages, I remember how they gave us cakes that they had baked themselves on the bus last year. Maybe our parishes could learn something from them about that planning.

Yes, that visit from Aleppo really refreshed the ties between Antioch and Romania, you can see that they stick together even in difficult times. And those cakes on the bus that you mention - I remember something similar when we went to the monastery in Banat, only ours were with nuts, so we laughed afterwards at how many crumbs were scattered on the seat. Maybe we should ask the Romanian parishes for some advice about those pilgrimages.

Yes, those Romanians really knew how to heat up the atmosphere on deck, they sang like they were at a fair. I haven't heard anything about the people of Aleppo this year on Mount Athos, but after that visit of the metropolitan, they probably had their hands full at home. And did you go this year, Miloš?

I haven't heard anything about the Aleplians on Mount Athos this year, they probably have their hands full there at home after all the troubles. And as for the thirty percent, it's really nice that Romanians go so much, except that last year I had to listen to someone sing on the bus until three in the morning, so I didn't close my eyes. Miloš, did you go this year or did you just watch from Niš?
