"Pylaiotika 2026" has begun - Focus on Prophet Ilias and the completion of 100 years since its foundationtranslated

Focusing on the celebration of the Holy Temple of the Prophet Helios of Pylaia and in an atmosphere of spiritual joy, the "Pylaiotika 2026" events began on Friday, July 17, an institution that combines church tradition with the cultural life of the region.

This year's event takes on a special character, as it marks 100 years since the foundation of the Holy Temple of the Prophet Helios, a temple that is a point of reference for Pylaia and the wider area of Thessaloniki.

The curtain of the events opened at 9 pm in the forecourt of the temple, with a rich program of traditional music and dances. The event was attended by cultural associations, the traditional choir of the parish and its dance group, while the dance group of the Holy Temple of Zoodochos Pigis Ampelokipi and the dance group of the Kapoutzidas Pylaia Association also had a special presence.

A crowd of believers and visitors flooded the venue, giving a strong "attendance" to the first day of the events and creating a warm, festive atmosphere.

Larisa TudorThis year is beautiful because it marks 100 years since the laying of the foundation stone of the church of Prophet Elijah. I liked that the dancers from Zoodohos Pigi from Ampelokipi also came, you can see that the connection between the parishes is alive. An evening with traditional music and so many people in the courtyard must have really been like a real panighiri.
