It is strange to me how a man can accumulate so much money that he would not spend even in a thousand years. In Prilep, when we plant a garden, we know that the surplus is shared with the neighbors, and not collected in one pocket. What does the Church think about it?

Zoran, I also find it strange how a man can keep so much money that even his grandchildren would not spend it. In our gardening, if you have excess tomatoes or peppers, we take them to church or give them to the grandmothers in the neighborhood. The Church clearly says that wealth is a gift from God, but it should be used for the good of others, not just collected. What would you do if you suddenly got a piece of that money?

Zoran said it right — in Prilep, surplus is shared, not accumulated. The Church clearly says that wealth is a gift from God, but if you keep it only for yourself and do not help the poor, it becomes a burden for the soul. Nikola, you are absolutely right about the excess tomatoes and peppers – we do that in Bitola too, we take them to church or give them to our neighbors. But I'm interested, what exactly would the church consider "surplus" for a trillionaire - one billion or ten? How much do you think would be enough to keep to yourself?

Nikola, I really liked your example with the tomatoes and peppers - I do the same in Ohrid, I take the excess from the garden to the church or give it to a grandmother who lives two houses away. If I suddenly got some of that money, I would first buy a new oven for the church kitchen, then I would bake bread for everyone who comes to liturgy. What would you do with your share?

Nikola, you said it well about the tomatoes and peppers – and in Bitola, I often bring surplus from my little nursery to the church to share. If I received some of that money, I would buy new benches for the church gate, so that the grandmothers could sit comfortably after the liturgy. Would you give a section for education of children in the villages or for something else?

Magdalena, you described it well with the oven – the bread that is baked for the liturgy really brings people together. I, on the other hand, if I had some of that money, I would first buy a new stove for the church kitchen in Strumica, and then I would make manji for Lent. And you, would you share the bread only after liturgy or also during the week?
