Sisters of the Ashmyany Sisterhood took part in the procession with the Suknevich Icon of the Mother of Godtranslated

Sunday, July 12, became a time of special spiritual celebration for the sisters of mercy of the Ashmyany Sisterhood of the Holy Great Martyr Barbara. After participating in the Divine Liturgy and receiving the Holy Mysteries of Christ, the sisters went to Smorgon to join the traditional procession with the miraculous Suknevich Icon of the Mother of God.

The pilgrims' journey began with a common prayer: on the way, the sisters asked the Lord for blessings for the upcoming work. Upon arrival at the Smorgon Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the hearts of the trip participants were filled with blessed joy - they were greeted by the solemn and bright ringing of bells. In the cathedral, the sisters were able to venerate the revered image. The moment of the removal of the shrine from the church became a moment of deep humility and reverence for believers: many knelt down so that the icon would be carried over them, as if overshadowing everyone with its heavenly cover.

The procession began under the bright summer sun. However, as we moved, the sky was covered with clouds and there was a breath of coolness - as if the Most Pure Virgin herself was taking care of her children, making their way easier.
