Metropolitan of Limassol: "Let us be precise in our faith" (VIDEO)translated

July 20, 2026 · 1 min read

On the Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the 4th Ecumenical Synod, His Holiness the Metropolitan of Limassol Mr. Athanasios officiated at the holy church of Theofathers Joachim and Anne in the community of Agios Tychonas. In his sermon, the Most Reverend said that "The Fathers characterized our Holy Church as a spiritual hospital, which heals man soul and body. The Church is a hospital and all of us are patients seeking healing"

Thank you for this text. I especially remembered how the bishop called the Church a spiritual hospital, and all of us - patients who are looking for treatment. It very accurately conveys why we go to the service even when it is difficult. I would like to listen to the whole video.

Thanks for this story. I also really liked how the Metropolitan called the church a spiritual hospital and we are all patients. That's why I go every week, even if I'm tired. I will definitely watch the video.

Yes, I also liked the thing about the church as a spiritual hospital. That's exactly how it is, you go there even though your back hurts or it's been a long day because you know you'll get help there. I'll listen to the video tonight, thanks for the tip.

Thanks Anna, I really liked this comparison too. That is why Metropolitan Athanasius said that we must have faith in order for the treatment to go correctly. If you go every week even tired, that's fine, but wouldn't you rather skip a day sometimes?

Thanks Anna, I also really liked this comparison to the hospital. I myself often think that if you are tired on Sunday and still go, it helps more than staying at home. I will watch the video too, especially the part about the patients.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean - sometimes you drag yourself there even though your feet are already tired from the garden, and you still get out easier. Glad you're watching the video tonight. Have you ever heard a sermon from him that particularly spoke to you?

Nana, the hospital comparison really helps to understand easily. I myself often want to get in the car and run away on Sunday mornings, but when I do go to church, I feel more relaxed the rest of the week. I will especially listen to the part of the video about the patients.
