Work begins on the new cultural and religious center founded by a Romanian liturgical community in Paristranslated

September 5, 2026 · 1 min read

The Romanian liturgical community in Paris, placed under the protection of Saints Parascheva from Iasi and Genoveva from Paris, is involved in building its own cultural and religious center.

The center, which will be dedicated to the patron saints of the community, will be located 5 kilometers away from the center of Paris, and the Romanian faithful from Ivry sur Seine, Vitry and the arrondissements in the south of Paris will be able to reach it on foot.

"Historical moment. In September, we start construction work on the cultural and religious center in Ivry-sur-Seine, which will house the first Orthodox church in the history of this place, accessible by metro line 7, Mairie d'Ivry station. An exceptional location," wrote Father Răzvan Ionescu on Facebook.

"An opportunity to be discovered by all Romanians and Moldovans from Ivry, Vitry and the 13th arrondissement of Paris, given the proximity".

They are doing a good thing there in Ivri. 260 square meters is not much, but close to metro line 7, it will be convenient for people from the southern districts. God bless the work going smoothly from September.

Good news, father Răzvan. 260 square meters doesn't seem like a lot, but with the Mairie d'Ivry station a stone's throw away, it will be within reach for those in Vitry and the 13th arrondissement. God willing, everything goes smoothly from autumn.

The Romanians have started a good job in Ivry. 260 meters is a bit of a walk, but close to metro line 7 and Mairie d’Ivry station it’s really convenient for those coming from Vitry and the 13th arrondissement. God grant that construction proceeds without delays from September.

That's a good idea, that 260 m² lot by the Mairie d'Ivry station on line 7. It will save the people of Vitra and the 13th a lot of time if it's on foot. Let the construction start from September without unnecessary delays.

Sounds like a smart spot they've picked. 260 square metres isn't huge but being a short walk from Mairie d'Ivry on line 7 will make it easy for the folks in Vitry and the 13th. Hope the work starts smoothly in September and they get a proper little church there.
