Summer camps have started in the Archdiocese of Lower Danube, where more than 2,000 children and young people are expected. The activities are part of the project entitled "Church Porch Holiday" and will take place in July and August.

This year's edition started on Monday at the Orthodox Theological Seminary "St. Andrew" in Galati, with the summer school "Seeds of light for the soul and mind".

Summer school activities For five days, approximately 50 students from secondary school classes from Galați parishes participate in activities with the teachers of the Theological Seminary "St. Andrew the Apostle" from Galaţi.

The diocesan inspector for education and youth activities, Father Robert Tiber, explained that the participants of the summer school are students who attend the catechetical centers in the city of Galaţi during the year.

"For five days, they will have a program that will bring them together, together with the teachers from the Theological Seminary, in a few moments where they will certainly remember the moments they spent together," the diocesan inspector told Trinitas TV.

The program includes educational and artistic workshops, sports activities,...

Good thing they started early. The children from the catechetical schools of Galatsi will spend five days with the teachers of the "Agios Andreas" Seminary and will remember these moments. I hope it's not just theory, but also has fishing or something tangible.

They did well to start with the Galatian Seminary. Those children from the catechetical centers already know the way to church all year, now they will spend five days with the teachers from "St. Andrew" and it will surely remain in their minds. I say add a day of fishing on the Danube, because nothing bonds a group better than a fishing rod and a fish caught together.

Sounds like a solid start with those 50 gimnaziu kids from the Galati catechetical centers getting five full days at the Sfântul Andrei Seminary. The “Semințe de lumină” name fits — hope the workshops and sports actually stick with them like Father Robert Tiber said. Adding a fishing day on the Danube would make it even better, just like the other guys mentioned.

It's good that they started right from the seminary in Galats. These 50 children from the catechizing centers already know the way to the church throughout the year, and now five days with the teachers from "St. Andrew" will remain in their heads. Hopefully they also include something practical, like a sport or a workshop, that theory alone is not enough.

Yeah, those five days with the seminary teachers should give the kids something solid to remember. The catechetical centres already do good work during the year, so this feels like a proper follow-up. Fishing on the Danube is a fun idea – my uncle used to take us when I was that age and it always beat sitting in a classroom.

It’s good that we started with the seminary in Galati. These 50 children from catechetical centers have been going to church all year, and now five days with teachers from St. Andrew will definitely be remembered. I hope that in addition to workshops and sports, they will also have time to get to the Danube, as suggested in the comments - a useful thing.
