Call of the soul: The reliquary will be made for the relics of St. Maria Brâncoveanu and her sons, St. Martyrs Stefan and Mateitranslated

Fr. Emil Nedelea Carămizaru, the parish priest of the "St. Gheorghe" - Nou Church, makes a heartfelt appeal to all those who have devotion to the Brâncoveni Saints: the community is preparing to make a reliquary for the relics of St. Lady Maria Brâncoveanu and her sons, St. Martyrs Ștefan and Matei, who testified in Constantinople together with St. Ruler Constantin Brâncoveanu.

The parish priest announces that the local proclamation of the canonization of the Holy Lady Maria Brâncoveanu will take place on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at this church founded by the family of saints.

"The Holy Martyrs of Brâncove put their love for Christ and their nation above their own lives. Saint Maria Brâncoveanu, heroine of the true faith, had an exemplary life, wife of a martyr ruler, mother of 11 children (four of them being martyred), she is a symbol of Christian and Romanian dignity," says Father Emil Nedelea Carămizaru.

"Now we have the blessed opportunity to become together the founders of this endeavor, so that their relics are honored according to the order in our church. So, let us unite in prayer and in the good deed, for the creation of a new reliquary, which will house the relics of the Holy Lady Maria Brâncoveanu...
