On July 21, on the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, Metropolitan Joseph of Ivanovo-Voznesensk and Vichuga celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Kazan Church in the city of Ivanovo. Then a prayer service was served and a procession of the cross was made around the church.

Concelebrating with the Bishop were the secretary of the Ivanovo-Voznesensk Diocesan Administration, Priest Georgy Vityazev, the rector of the Kazan Church, Archpriest Alexander Sorokin, Protodeacon Pavel Konik and Hierodeacon Andrey (Datsko).

Thank God for this beautiful holiday! I liked that they also did the procession around the church after the liturgy, as we used to do in our parish. Father Alexandru Sorokin is a hardworking man, I know him from old accounts.

The cross procession around the church after the moleben sounds just right — we do the same at our parish on Kazan day. Father Alexander Sorokin really keeps things moving; good to see him mentioned. Glory to God for the feast.

Yeah, our parish does the cross procession right after the moleben too — keeps everything in order. Father Alexander always seems steady at the helm. Did they have many folks turn out in Ivanovо this year?

Our parish here in Denver does the same order—moleben straight into the cross procession, keeps the kids from getting restless. Father Alexander sounds like a good steady hand, just like our own Fr. John. How many usually show up for the Kazan feast in your neck of the woods?

Yeah, same order here in Chicago too — moleben right into the procession keeps the flow smooth. We usually get a solid crowd for Kazan, especially if the weather holds. Did Father Alexander mention how many came out in Ivanovo?

Our parish here in Wichita usually does the moleben and procession in that same order too — it does keep things moving nicely. I wonder if they had any special singing from the choir this year; ours always adds a lot when we celebrate Kazan. How big is your turnout usually, Paul?

We do the same order here too — moleben right after Liturgy keeps everyone together before the heat builds up. Our choir sang the troparion and the special “O Lady, receive the prayers of Thy servants” during the procession; it always lifts the whole thing. How many usually turn out in Wichita?
