Odigitrievsky Convent will celebrate the patronal holidaytranslated

On August 10, the Hodigitrievsky Convent of Chelyabinsk will celebrate the patronal feast day in honor of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God “Hodigitria”. The festive services will be led by Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass and Bishop Methodius of Kamensky and Kamyshlovsky. On August 9 at 17:00 the monastery will hold an all-night vigil, and on August 10 at 8:45 there will be a Divine Liturgy. After the service, guests will enjoy a procession of the cross, a festive tea party, free excursions around the monastery territory and master classes. The Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God “Hodegetria” is the main shrine of the monastery. The first church of the monastery, built in the 19th century, was consecrated in honor of this image. Every year the patronal feast brings together clergy, parishioners and pilgrims from all over the Southern Urals.
