Ordination of a new Deacon in Petrilia Fthiotidostranslated

In the joyful atmosphere of the great Theotokos Feast, the first in the new Church year, of the Birth of the Most Holy Theotokos, in the celebratory Church of the same name in the settlement of Petrilion near Sofia of the historical Municipality of Domokos, on Sunday September 6, 2026, the Solemn Orthros and the High Priestly Divine Liturgy were held under the His Eminence Metropolitan Fthiotidos Mr. Simeon. Today was a historic day for the beautiful settlement of Petrilia and for the entire Municipality of Domokos, the area of the historical Episcopate of Thaumakos, as the settlement celebrates its 100th anniversary since its creation and the Most Reverend Metropolitan Fthiotidos Mr. Simeon honored this anniversary of the faithful residents of the area by performing the ordination of the Deacon Fr. Panteleimonos Vlachopoulos, who comes from Ekkara Domokou and it is worth noting that, for the first time in the long history of the Church, a High Priestly Divine Liturgy and the Sacrament of Clergy Ordination were held.
