The Municipality of Konitsa for the three days of events in honor of Agios Paisios of Agioreitostranslated

With due respect and special splendor, events were held in Konitsa from July 10 to 12, 2026 by the Holy Metropolis of Dryinoupolis, Pogoniani and Konitsa and the Municipality of Konitsa, in honor of Saint Paisios of Agioreitos, a modern, particularly popular Saint, who lived in Konitsa during his childhood and youth. The events began on Friday, July 10, with a visit and guided tour of the paternal home of Agios Paisios and a prayer at the chapel of Agia Varvara, where the Saint had his first vision. Afterwards, a documentary screening was held in the event hall of the town hall entitled "Light of Cappadocia: Agios Arsenios and Agios Paisios", a production of the Hellenic Foundation for Historical Studies in collaboration with the Holy Monastery of Agios Arsenios. The event was attended by a group of pilgrims from Halkidiki, who accompanied the Abbot of the Monastery of Saint Arsenios Archimandrite Synesios.
