July 15: Saints Kirikos and Iulitta are celebratedtranslated

July 15, 2026 · 1 min read

Our Church today honors the memory of the Martyrs Krykos and his mother Juliet, as well as Saint Vladimir, king of Russia. Agia Iulitti lived during the reign of Diocletian. He came from Iconium in Asia Minor. Due to the outbreak of the Persecution, she took her son Kyrykos and went to Seleucia and then to Tarsus, where she was captured by the ruler Alexander, who subjected her to horrible tortures in front of her child.

Then, the ruler tried to bring the little Preacher with him, but he refused and after invoking the name of Christ, he gave a strong kick to the stomach of the ruler, as a result of which he became enraged and threw the Preacher down the steps, breaking his skull. And his mother, after being subjected to many and horrible tortures, remained steadfast in her faith until she surrendered her spirit to Jesus Christ.
