Romanian Patriarchate: Elected new Assistant Bishops for the Diasporatranslated

The Holy Synod of the Romanian Patriarchate dealt with the election of Bishops for Dioceses in the Diaspora during its meeting yesterday.  Also, as ope.gr wrote, the Holy Synod elected Mr. Antonio from Belky as Archbishop of Chisinau and Metropolitan of Bessarabia, in succession to Metropolitan Petros who had recently submitted his resignation.

The Hierarchs of the Romanian Patriarchate also elected, after a secret vote, two Archimandrites as Assistant Bishops who will serve in Metropolises of the Diaspora.

In particular, he elected Archimandrite Maxim Draguc under the title of the Paradanubian Diocese as Assistant Bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Italy.

He also elected Archimandrite Iachinto Vardianou under the title of Bishop of the Pacific as Assistant Bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Australia and New Zealand.

Immediately after the announcement of the election, the new Bishops came before the Patriarch, Mr. Daniel and the members of the Holy Synod and accepted their election, at the same time thanking the Holy Synod for their election.
