The Metropolitan Theodoros of Heliopolis at the Holy Church of Agios Panteleimonos Loutra Edipsostranslated

With the blessing of the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Halkidos, Istiaia and the Northern Sporades, Mr. Chrysostomos, he officiated during the Divine Liturgy of Sunday, July 5, 2026, the day on which our Church honors the memory of Saint Athanasios of Athonite and the Synod of Our Lady of Ikonistria, in the Holy Church of Agios Panteleimon in Loutra Edipsou, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Heliopolis, Mr. Theodoros, of the Patriarchate of Alexandria. His Eminence was flanked by the Head of the Holy Church, Protopresbyter Fr. Nikolaos Argyriou, and Protopresbyter Fr. Christos Ngelas, who worshiped with him.

In the right lectern, Mr. Apostolis Margaris, Andreas Lionis and Mr. Nikolaos Kaklamanos sang, while in the left lectern Mr. Dimitrios Kourpadakis & Mr. Panagiotis Togias ministered, rendering with ecclesiastical propriety the hymns of the day.

During his homily, His Holiness developed Sunday's Gospel passage, referring to the visit of our Lord Jesus Christ to the country of the Gergesenes and the miracle of the healing of the demon-possessed. I am glad that Father Nikolaos Argyriou collaborated with Metropolitan Theodoros. The sermon about the demon-possessed of Gergesene stayed with me, especially the phrase about the power of Christ's presence that frees from sin. The chants are also nice, Apostolis Margaris always sets the tone.

Well said Maria, I particularly liked the sermon about the Gergesians. The phrase about the power of Christ's presence that loosens the bonds of sin is one of those that remain. And Fr. Nikolaos Argyriou with Fr. Christos Ngelas next to Metropolitan Theodoros gave a nice image to Agios Panteleimonas.

Το κήργγμα για τους Γεργεσινούς και τη φωτά της παραστός του Κριστού που λύνει τα δάσμα της αμαρτίας μου παλαι πολύ. Ο π. Νικόλαος Αργυρίου with τον π. I agree, that part about the Gergesians and deliverance from sin was the strongest. Father Nikolaos and Father Christos served really well with the bishop, you could see that everything was in place. And the singing of Apostolis Margaris is always particularly pleasant to me, as if the man is singing from a church and not from an analogue.
