"Apostoli" honors the memory of Lela Karagiannitranslated
On the occasion of the 82nd anniversary of the execution of Lela Karagianni, one of the most emblematic figures of the National Resistance, "APOSTOLI" and the "Lela Karagianni" Children's Center are organizing, from September 7 to 11, 2026, a series of activities dedicated to her life, action and historical legacy. For five days, the historic building of the "Lelas Karagiannis House", at 1 Lelas Karagiannis Street in Amerikis Square, opens its doors to the public, with free entry.
Daily, from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., there will be guided tours of the historic house, lasting 40 minutes, through which visitors will have the opportunity to get to know the life and resistance action of Lela Karagiannis.
At the same time, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the documentary "Meetings with my Mother, Lela Karagiannis" by Vassilis Loule, from the ERT archive, will be shown, as well as the historically documented virtual representation "Block 15, Haidari camp: a virtual journey into a dark past", realized by the Athens University of Economics and Business.
