On September 1, a ceremonial assembly dedicated to the beginning of the new academic year took place at the Polotsk Cadet School. Bishop Ignatius of Polotsk and Glubokoe took part in the ceremony.

His Eminence, addressing those present, said: – Dear students and teachers of our Polotsk Cadet School. Today we begin the school year. The academic year falls on the month of the New Year, when the new Liturgical year begins. Every year you learn something new and strengthen your knowledge. But it is important to remember that the time spent within these walls will end someday. And the most important thing to remember is that time is a resource that becomes useless if it is spent in the church. I sincerely wish you, dear cadets and mentors, to spend time within these walls with benefit for your soul, mind and education. So that we can see the defenders of the Fatherland. And we cannot afford for our education to be of poor quality or incomplete. I want you to put all your strength and all your mind into this.
