With a renewed design, Basilica.ro of the Romanian Patriarchatetranslated

September 1, 2026 · 1 min read

On the occasion of the start of the new ecclesiastical year on September 1, the Basilica News Agency of the Romanian Patriarchate presents its new visual identity and a completely redesigned Basilica.ro website. This is the most significant renewal of its online presence since the last major redesign, in 2016. The new layout with those clear categories like Patriarchal, Episcopal, and Social sounds much more practical than the old blog-style scroll. Nice that they're timing the launch with the new church year and already thinking ahead to their 20th anniversary in 2027. I'll have to check it out on my lunch break at the hospital.

The categories make sense—Patriarchal and Social especially help cut through the old endless scroll. I checked it this morning before heading to school; the cards load quick even on my phone. Do you find the Episcopal section useful for keeping up with your local bishop?

The Episcopal section has been handy for me too, especially since our bishop here in Boston visited Romania last year and I like seeing what the other dioceses are up to. The new cards do load faster than the old layout ever did. Have you noticed any particular stories standing out in the Social category yet?
