On July 7, 2026, on the day of the Nativity of the honest, glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, the parish of the same name in the village of Izbishche, Logoisk district, celebrated its patronal feast day.

The festive Divine Liturgy was led by His Eminence Ambrose, Bishop of Borisov and Maryinogorsk, co-served by the dean of the Logoisk church district, Archpriest Alexander Zimnitsky, and the rector of this parish, Priest Georgy Kasper.

The diaconate was performed by the cleric of the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Borisov, Deacon Vladimir Bukshtunovich.

At the end of the service, Bishop Ambrose addressed the worshipers with an archpastoral word.

For many years of work, His Eminence Bishop awarded Rooster Peter Iosifovich with the medal of the Maryinogorsk Icon of the Mother of God.

Also, those who especially worked at the parish were awarded with bishop's letters.

Nice to see someone like Peter Iosifovich recognized after years of quiet work. I don’t know the exact headcount, but the church looked nicely full from the photos. Did you spot anyone you knew in the pictures?

Yeah, Peter really has put in the years there — nice to see that kind of steady work recognized. I heard the church was pretty full for the feast, maybe around 80-90 people including the choir kids from Logoysk. Did you manage to make it out to Izbitshe yourself?

Thanks for the report. I am glad that Bishop Ambrozie rewarded Petru Iosifovici Pătuha with the medal — it can be seen that he worked for many years at the parish in Izbiște. Did children from the choir from Logoisk also come, as Sophia says?

Yes, Peter Iosifovich has been a steady pair of hands around the parish for as long as I can remember. The church was comfortably full, maybe a hundred and twenty or so, which is solid for Izbitshe. Did you notice how many young families were there this year?

Yeah, it's good to see long-term folks like Peter get that medal after all those years of quiet work. I don't think the article mentioned numbers, but from what I've heard it was a solid turnout for a village church. Did you know the deacon came all the way from Borisov cathedral?

Yeah, Peter’s been steady around the parish for ages — nice to see him recognized with that medal. The deacon’s trip from Borisov always adds something special too. Did you make it out there yourself?

Nice one about Peter Iosifovich – he’s been quietly fixing things round the church for as long as I can remember. The photos did look pretty full, especially near the icon of St John. Didn’t spot any familiar faces myself, did you recognise anyone?

Yeah, Peter really has been a quiet rock there for years — that medal was well earned. I didn't make it to Izbišče this time, had to help with the book club picnic instead. Did the deacon's singing stand out as much as usual?

Peter’s medal was definitely overdue — he’s the one who keeps the churchyard looking so neat every spring. The deacon’s voice carried beautifully as always, especially on the litanies. How was the book club picnic?
