On the eve of the celebration of the memory of the holy fathers of the six Ecumenical Councils, Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass and Bishop Zosima of Magnitogorsk and Verkhneuralsk held an all-night vigil in the St. Simeon Cathedral. The archpastors were concelebrated by the clergy of the cathedral, led by the clergyman, Archpriest Vladimir Manichev. During the reading of the canon, Metropolitan Vincent anointed the parishioners with blessed oil. Tomorrow the Church celebrates the memory of the holy fathers of the six Ecumenical Councils. The meaning of their special veneration is that the Councils had the gift of making infallible determinations in the field of Christian faith and piety in crisis moments of church history. In addition to dogmatic activity, the holy fathers of the Ecumenical Councils developed rules of church discipline. After two thousand years and thanks to the holy fathers, we know how to correctly believe in the Lord. In formulating the dogmas, the Church insisted that they were necessary to achieve salvation and eternal life. Tomorrow, July 26, the archpastors will celebrate the Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ. Starts at 9:45. CDRO Chelyabinsk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
