The Church Colportage Service celebrates 18 years of activitytranslated

Archim. Joachim Bejenariu, advisor to the Economic-Financial Sector of the Archdiocese of Bucharest and the director of the Colportage Service of the diocese, conveyed some thoughts on the 18-year anniversary of this essential service for the life of the Church.

Church Colportage Service for 18 years of activity The beginning of July this year, 2026, marks for the Church Colportage Service (SCB) of the Archdiocese of Bucharest the completion of 18 years of operation and service in support of the mission of the Orthodox Church. The 18 years of uninterrupted activity represent the maturation of a productive service which, through its entire activity, has assumed the mission of supporting the pastoral, liturgical, cultural and philanthropic work of the Church.

In Orthodox theology, the mission of church canvassing finds its foundation in the mission of the Church itself, that of providing the faithful with all the means necessary to cultivate the spiritual life. In this way, church colportage objects represent instruments by which the believer is supported in his participation in the liturgical life of the Church.
