Applications for the All-Russian Video Festival of Bell Ringing are now opentranslated

From October 1 to October 31, the organizing committee of the bell ringing video festival is accepting applications from church bell ringers. The project is a modern form of interaction between masters of bell art and the Internet audience and is aimed at preserving and developing the traditions of Orthodox bell ringing as part of the intangible cultural heritage of Russia.

The goals of the festival are to educate the audience in the traditions of the Orthodox faith, the history of bell ringing and their significance for Russian culture, as well as to introduce young people to the tradition of Russian bell ringing. Participants get the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a familiar environment in the bell towers of churches, where they carry out obedience.

Upon completion of the acceptance of works, the heads of the four bell-ringing schools will select the most interesting ones for publication on thematic Internet resources. The laureates will be announced on November 22, on the 600th anniversary of the repose of St. Nikon, abbot of Radonezh, disciple of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
