Im Alten Heiligen Kloster von Kato Xenia, Metropolit Dimitriados Ignatiosübersetzt

Das historische alte Heilige Kloster von Kato Xenia wurde heute, Samstag, 25. Juli, von Rev. Metropolit von Dimitrias, Herrn Ignatios, in Begleitung der Priorin des Heiligen Klosters, Gerontissa Nymphodora, besucht. Während seines Besuchs wurde er über den Fortschritt der Restaurierungs- und Restaurierungsarbeiten des historischen Klosterkomplexes im Hinblick auf das Heilige Fest Mariä Himmelfahrt am 23. August informiert.

Die laufenden Arbeiten zielen auf die vollständige Restaurierung und Restaurierung des alten Heiligen Klosters Kato Xenia in der Provinz Almyros ab, damit es wieder zu einem der wichtigsten Wallfahrtsorte und Zentren des klösterlichen Lebens in der Region wird, aber auch zu einem Ort spiritueller Referenz und Gastfreundschaft für die Tausenden von Pilgern, die jedes Jahr ankommen. Es wird daran erinnert, dass das alte Heilige Kloster durch die Erdbeben von 1980 schwere Schäden erlitten hat und seit 45 Jahren unbewohnt ist.

Χαίρομαι που ο Δεσπότης Ιγνάτιος πήγε να δει από κοντά τις εργασίες. 45 χρόνια μετά τον σεισμό του 1980, επιτέλους η παλιά μονή αρχίζει να ξαναγίνεται προσκύνημα. Ελπίζω μέχρι τις 23 Αυγούστου να έχουν προχωρήσει αρκετά, να μην είναι μόνο σκαλωσιές.

I remember seeing those same scaffolds last year when I passed through Almyros too. The abbess has indeed kept everything going with very little help. I doubt they’ll risk moving the Holy Belt for the feast; they usually keep the icon and the Belt together at the new monastery and just let people walk up to the old site if the church is even partly ready.
