Larisis Ieronymos: Saint Paisios preached throughout his life the status of a Christian (VIDEO)translated

In the Holy Church of Agios Georgios Magalomartyros, Volos St., Larissa, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos, Mr. Hieronymos, officiated at the Solemn Liturgy and celebrated the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, July 12, 2026, the day of honor of the memory of one of the youngest Saints of our Faith and very popular, the Holy Father of Paisios of Agioreitos. The wooden icon that St. Paisios carved with his own hands really stood out to me. It’s a powerful reminder that the greatest thing any of us can do is simply be a faithful member of the Church, like the Metropolitan said. I need to remember that when I start thinking my own little service in the kitchen or at study group isn’t enough.

That little wooden icon really struck me too, Gregory. My wife and I were talking after Liturgy about how St Paisios probably carved it on some quiet afternoon between visitors at his cell, same as the quiet hours I spend prepping meals for our parish soup run. Makes the Metropolitan’s point land even harder – being a plain faithful member is plenty. Do you have a particular “kitchen or study group” task that sometimes feels too small?
