The Feast of St. Nicodemus of Agioreitos at the Holy Monastery of Taxiarchon Peliontranslated

Report office ope.gr Today, Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the memory of our Holy Father Nicodemus of Agioreitos was solemnly honored in the Holy Monastery of Panmegisto Taxiarchon Pelion.  The Eucharistic Synagogue was presided over by the Professor of the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi and spiritual leader of the Monastery, Geron Ephraim.

A dance of brothers of the Holy Monastery sang in the holy lecterns.

On this day, Kathigoumeni Gerontissa Nikodemi conducts her nomenclature, an event that gathered a large number of believers in the Monastery who came to pray for her.

Elder Ephraim Vatopaidinos referred to the charismatic personality of the honored Saint Nikodemos during his speech, emphasizing the importance of his work for monasticism and especially for Mount Athos. "Spiritual experiences are not expressed or described", he emphasized, referring to the spiritual experiences experienced by Saint Nicodemus.

Elder Ephraim also referred to the choice of the name Nikodemi for the current Abbess of the Monastery, pointing out that the previous spiritual leader of the brotherhood, blessed Father Antonios, wanted this monastery to have a spiritual connection with Mount Athos.
