On Friday, July 17, 2026, our Church celebrated the holy memory of Saint Marina the Great Martyr and in the Metropolis of Alexandroupolis celebrated the homonymous Pilgrimage of the Saint to the Master of Alexandroupolis, where the miraculous icon of Saint Marina is treasured, while a piece (a finger) of the holy relics of St. On the afternoon of Thursday, July 16, the Great High Priestly Vespers of the holiday was celebrated in the forecourt of the Shrine by our Metropolitan Mr. Anthimos. Crowds of people waited patiently in their turn to worship the venerable icon and holy relic of the Saint. The Procession was attended by the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Mr. Christodoulos Topsidis, the Mayor of Alexandroupolis, Mr. Ioannis Zamboukis, the commander of the 12th Division, Lieutenant General Pavlos Andrikopoulos, the coordinator of the Prime Minister's Office in Thessaloniki, Mrs. Eleni Sokou, as well as representatives of local bodies.
