Ecclesiastical Museum of Evangelistria of Nafplion: 136 Holy Relics are preserved and savedtranslated

An important rescue project of the Holy Relics of the Ecclesiastical Museum of the Evangelistria of Nafplion was initiated by the Ministry of Culture. By decision of the Minister of Culture, Mrs. Lina Mendoni, the necessary expenditure was approved by the Ministry of Culture for the implementation of an important project of conservation and disinfection of the sacred icons of the Ecclesiastical Museum of the Church of the Evangelistria of Nafplio.

These are 136 sacred icons, of historical, ecclesiastical and artistic value, which, due to the natural wear and tear of time and the serious alterations caused by the sarcoid and other biological factors, needed immediate scientific care.

Specialist conservators of the Ministry of Culture have already started maintenance work on the Holy Church, with the aim of rescuing, restoring and safeguarding these precious ecclesiastical relics, so that they can be handed down intact to future generations as a valuable legacy of our faith, history and culture.

It's a good thing that they started with the 136 icons, because the poor man had eaten them all. It will be a while before I see them clean and whole at the museum, but at least things are being done right. I also thank Mrs. Mendoni for approving the money.
