Boston Holy Cross School of Theology Launches Certified Catechist Programtranslated

With the blessing of the Most Reverend Archbishop of America Mr. Elpidophoros and the approval of the Holy Provincial Synod of the Holy Archdiocese of America, the School of Theology of the Holy Cross – Hellenic College (HCHC) announces the launch of the new certified program of Orthodox Catechism, entitled "The Catechist: The Art of Listening and Teaching", which will begin in academic year 2026–2027. The idea for the creation of the program belongs to the Archbishop Mr. Elpidophoros and the members of the Holy Provincial Synod, while the reason for its creation was the growing pastoral need to train lay catechists in order to assist in the apostolic and teaching work of the Church. Then, the teaching staff of the School of Theology of the Holy Cross undertook to develop this original idea and shape the academic content of the program, under the guidance of the dean, Fr. Eugenio Pentiuc (Rev. Dr. Eugen J. Pentiuc). The program will be directed by the Associate Dean of the School, Dr. James C. Skedros.
