Празникът на събирането на мощите на св. Гавриил в Лероспревод

От вечерта на петък, 17 юли, започнаха литургичните събития, свързани с събирането на мощите на Осия Габриелиас, покровител и Ефор на остров Лерос. Богослужебните събития започнаха с церемония пред гробницата й, в светата обител Панагия на замъка Лерос, от преосв. митрополита на Лерос, Калимнос и Астипалая г-н Паисий от Светата молитва. След това в св. митрополитски храм „Благовещение на Богородица Лерос“ се състоя, оглавено от преосв. митрополита на Сими г-н Хризостому, приемане на св. Кара, св. мощи и св. Осийска икона, след което беше отслужена Велика тържествена многойерархическа вечерня, отслужена също от митр. Хризостому и в съслужение с преп. митрополита на Лерос г-н Паисий и Теофил. Епископите на Халикарнас г-н Адрианос, г-н Стефанос от Стратоникея и г-н Антониу от Родостоло.

Късно следобед се проведе Света лития за Свети Кара, Светите мощи и Светата икона на Свети Гавраил от църквата Света Митрополия до централния площад Платанос, пред Филхармонията на Община Лерос, където пред сградата на кметството бе изпеен Деисис и...

I remember reading about Saint Gavrilia years ago and how she lived such a simple life on Leros. Nice to see her relics brought out with the procession to the main square in Platanos and the band leading the way. Did they finish the prayer service at the town hall before it got too dark?
