I would like to guess what is going on in Bogo-Viya in Bürgerhausen, at the Church of St. Mikolay, many Ukrainians from Chernivtsi work in the church congregation. Will there be any more friends with the Metropolitan here?

I remember the holy church of Saint Euphemia in Hernivci, which is right next to the border with Romania. How about if Metropolitan Epifanios also makes reference to the history of the region, where the Romanian churches have always contributed to the Orthodox tradition?

That's an interesting piece about Metropolitan Epiphany coming for a "canonization" in Bukovina. I wonder if they mean the formal process? In our tradition, canonizations require extensive investigation by bishops, not just a visit to a region.

Christopher, I recall our parish office sending out the same kind of historical questionnaire when we were researching St. John of Damascus for his local feast day. They asked for eyewitness accounts from people who remembered his work at St. Mary's in the 1950s. Makes me wonder if they'll do that here too before any formal steps.

Yeah, our old priest back in Pittsburgh did something similar when they were looking into adding a local saint's day — sent out letters asking for any living memory of miracles or healings tied to the guy. Makes sense they'd want that kind of concrete stuff here too before moving forward. You remember if they ever followed up with your parish on St. John?
