The feat of His Majesty's cuirassiers was honored on the Borodino fieldtranslated

On the Borodino field, ceremonial events were held to mark the 324th anniversary of the formation of His Majesty's Life Guards Cuirassier Regiment - one of the most valiant units of the Russian Guard, which heroically showed itself in the battle of 1812.

The rector of the Church of the Archangel Michael in the city of Mozhaisk, priest Sergiy Andriyanov, took part in the commemorative events. At the monument dedicated to the glorious cuirassier warriors, Father Sergius performed a funeral litany.

During the service, intense prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of “leaders and warriors who laid down their lives for the faith, the Tsar and the Fatherland, and their friends on the field of Borodino.”

Addressing those present at the end of the litany, priest Sergiy Andriyanov noted that the feat of His Majesty’s cuirassier is an example of the highest courage and fidelity to the oath for his contemporaries. According to the priest, prayerful memory of the defenders of the Motherland is a sacred duty of descendants, which does not allow the connection between generations to be interrupted and strengthens the spiritual foundations of our people.
