The National History Museum will host an exhibition on the historical relations between Romania and the United States of America between July 17 and September 30.
The cultural event will be organized on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the American state.
According to the organizers, the exhibition traces the evolution of the ties between the two states, "from the first information coming from the New World in the Romanian Countries, to the ideas contained in the Declaration of Independence of 1776 and the Constitution of 1787, which nourished the dreams of Romanians in crucial moments, such as the Revolution of 1848 or the War of Independence of 1877-1878, and until the end of the Partnership strategic between the two states".
The public will be able to discover documents and objects that illustrate the beginnings of diplomatic relations, the role of Queen Maria in consolidating the image of Romania across the Ocean, as well as the stages crossed by the two countries during the First and Second World Wars, the Cold War and after 1989.
