“IV Rally of Sobriety and Health - Transfiguration 2026”: unity of spirit, sobriety and strengthtranslated

On June 26–27, 2026, at the parish in the name of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church in the village of Vostochny, the traditional diocesan “IV Rally of Sobriety and Health - Transfiguration 2026” of the Serov diocese was held. The event was organized at the initiative of the Department for Promotion of Sobriety and Prevention of Addictions.

During the Meeting, participants discussed key issues related to the promotion of sobriety in society. The focus was on examples of the implementation of the concept of the Russian Orthodox Church for the prevention of alcoholism, the practice of making vows and solemnly taking the Vows of Sobriety before God and the Orthodox community. Special attention was paid to the analysis of external factors that can undermine the traditional values ​​of a sober lifestyle.

An important part of the program was the report of a psychophysiologist, professor at the Ural Medical University. The specialist highlighted the danger of not only chemical addictions, but also new forms of addiction - digital, gaming, Internet and gadget addiction, especially in relation to the younger generation, and also presented developments in overcoming these addictions.
