His Eminence Father Casian, Archbishop of Lower Danube, officiated the Holy Liturgy on Sunday at the Archbishop's Cathedral in Galati and offered special prayers for students and teachers at the beginning of the new school year. At the same time, the "Christ in school" program continues in the diocese, through which 3,300 children receive schoolbags and supplies.
His Holiness Father Cassian interpreted the Parable of the wedding of the emperor's son and showed that the emperor's Son is the Lord Jesus Christ, the true Teacher, who invites children, parents and teachers to a spiritual communion occasioned by the beginning of the new school year.
The hierarch also recalled the International Meeting of Orthodox Youth (ITO) 2026 in Bucharest, where the 2,400 participants confessed, shared communion and received the blessing of the Blessed Father Patriarch Daniel in the National Cathedral.
"The emperor's son is the true Teacher, who wants a big wedding to which he will call, this time, all the children, all the parents and all the teachers," said the Archbishop of Lower Danube.
