Beginning of the school year with prayer, at "St. Stelian" Kindergarten and "St. Catherine" Nurserytranslated

With the blessing of His Eminence Father Dr. Irineu, the Archbishop of Craiova and the Metropolitan of Oltenia, the Kindergarten "St. Stelian" and the Nursery "St. Ecaterina", from the Municipality of Târgu Jiu, belonging to the Social - Philanthropic Sector of the Archdiocese of Craiova, started the new school year with prayer and with God's blessing.

The little ones received the blessing through the Te Deum service, so that their steps may be guided by God, and their souls may grow beautifully, in light and love. The teaching staff from the two school units waited for the little ones with a lot of love, with smiles and with gifts prepared for each child, turning the first day into a real celebration.

"We want every day spent here to be a joy for the children, a step forward and a beautiful memory. God, bless the little ones, their parents and all the ladies who guide their first steps!", said Fr. Găvan Alexandru, the administrator of the "Saint Stelian" Kindergarten.

Nice that they started the year with a Te Deum and not just paper formalities. Here in Prague, we also do it at kindergartens connected to the parish, and the children remember it all year long. Let the gifts and smiles last them even in January, when it gets harder.

I'm glad we started with the Te Deum and not just the papers. In our church kindergarten in Minsk they also do this; the children then remember all year long how the priest blessed them. Let these kids in Targu Jiu never stop smiling even on cold days.

I really liked that they did the Te Deum from the beginning, not just paper formalities. Even in our church in Elbasan, when small groups of children start, the priest gives them the blessing and they remember it. Congratulations to the parents and teachers of Târgu Jiu who have given them gifts and smiles - I hope it lasts even in January.
